Local meetings of AFP: The Philadelphia Chapter of AFP met twice in Philadelphia at the home of Dr. Ellen Berman during 2016-17. Dr. Rao Gogenini gathered residents from 5 local psychiatry residency programs who were interested in family psychiatry. Stories were shared and cases were discussed. We will continue to meet during the next academic year. Judith Katz was given the Philadelphia Psychiatric Society Award for Excellence in Family Care. We encourage faculty from cities in which there is more than one residency program to have local “family oriented care” meetings as well.
