Gap Curriculum

THE GAP CURRICULUM: FAMILY ORIENTED CARE IN ADULT PSYCHIATRIC RESIDENCIES

The GAP Family Committee was recently asked to update our model AADPRT family curriculum from 2006. This shortened version is designed for today’s residency programs and focuses on family work, family support and a systems orientation throughout all aspects of the residency program. It is our belief that families need to be included and supported whether the focus of treatment is emergency care, medication management or psychotherapy.

There will be a second working group of GAP members and friends who will expand this version in 2022, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, please circulate this OCT 2021 version to anyone you think would be interested.
